Although there is still uncertainty around when lockdown will end and what the latest restrictions will be, people are waiting for their opportunity to book. With staycations selling out online almost instantly when the last lockdown is lifted, it’s expected that the same will happen again.
The UK has a diverse array of tourism hotspots that are crying out for visitors after a year of financial hardships. While some farmers have set up glamping businesses to attract holidaymakers, others have opened their land to campers.
For example, landowners can now rent out land to campers during the summer months, with the relaxation of “permitted development” rules that mean campsites can open for 56 days each year instead of the previous 28-day rule.
Nick Lomas, director general at the Caravan and Motorhome Club, told the BBC: “although coronavirus had hit the industry hard, they were optimistic about the coming season.”
Lincoln-based Anne’s Vans offer a camper van rental service. Owner Anne Davies told the BBC: “Based on last year’s experience we are expecting a bumper year in 2021… once this latest lockdown is over.”

Camptoo’s website claims that you could be earning up to £750 per week renting out your camper van on their website, which is not an amount to be sniffed at. They have partnered with insurers to cover rental and allow owners to screen campers, making it a quick and seamless experience.
Alternatively, you could create your own website and use social media to get your name out there. Just make sure you have done your research here to ensure you have the relevant and adequate insurance and terms and conditions in place.
